"After working out with Rhonda for several years. I had lost over 30lbs but I felt I had hit a plateau. The AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge was exactly what I needed to help me break through.
I lost over 20lbs in the 4 months following the Challenge!"

"I was introduced to BeFit in 2008 and at that time worked with one of Rhonda’s trainers. I initially came to Befit because I had a knee issue and was planning a mountain bike vacation that summer that I wanted to feel good for. I felt great for my trip so stopped with the training. About a year later I got an email from Rhonda that talked about circuit classes. I was curious, so I started those up and really began to enjoy myself.
People always say if you want something to “stick”, you have to 1) - like what you are doing, and 2) - it helps to have a buddy doing it with you. Enter my neighbors and good friends, Lynne and Cindy. They began coming to BeFit on Wednesday nights with me and we had a blast. By this time, my husband was also coming to class. The four of us would carpool over and sometimes go out for dinner afterward. As time went by I found myself getting stronger in places I never imagined. As silly as it sounds now, there was a time I felt something at waist level, and grew alarmed, thinking it may be a tumor…..but no tumor, it was a muscle I had never felt before. I love that I can kick out 25 men’s style pushups and feel stronger now than I did in my twenties.
This summer I applied my do what you love with a friend philosophy to losing some weight, and in no time 19 lbs. have come off. I love knowing that I have a great support system built in at BeFit now that I have friends going there that keep me accountable. Rhonda and her team over the years have become like family. Additionally, through seeing the same people in class each week, I have made new friends that enjoy doing the same things I enjoy doing, and that is invaluable. The saying “Like attracts like” is so true, therefore I only see myself coming to more classes as time goes by, and enjoying myself and the person I am becoming more and more.”

”In August 2013, my Doctor said, “I want to put you on a diabetes medication; your A1C has been too high for the last 2 tests”. No I said, I can change this, give me 1 month. So I asked Rhonda what product AdvoCare had to smooth out blood sugar and started on the MNS supplements.
I also changed my diet to include lots of fruit and vegetables, eliminated processed foods, sugar and non-whole grain carbs. I also limited my wine intake. In addition, I have committed to regular exercise. In one month my A1c went down .1 point. I continued on this plan, adding in the AdvoCare cleanse with Rhonda’s gentle prodding, “how is that working for you?”. And, because of that, I’ve had great results.
I have been working out with Rhonda since 2008. I really enjoy the circuit classes on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. And, the small group feels more personal, the other people in the class are friendly and enjoyable to work out with, lots of laughter and sometime dancing and singing. My 1x1 sessions with Rhonda are a combination of great weight training and conversations (when I can talk!) on nutrition, workouts and life in general. Rhonda makes each work out different and I am never bored.”
In January my Doctor said, don’t lose any more weight! I’ve never heard that before. Thanks to Rhonda and my Doctor I am 22.8 pounds lighter, 7.5% less body fat, 12+ inches smaller, blood pressure medicine cut in ½ and my A1C is down .3 points. I have balance in my diet, I have dessert, I drink wine and I focus on real food that tastes great. I look great if I may say so, feel more energetic and healthy and feel I have made a lifestyle change to last for hopefully my much longer life!!”

"I met Rhonda when we were just kids, and in the prime of our lives! Through the years, things change and our bodies just don't respond like they used to! After convincing Rhonda to move to San Diego several years ago, she returned the favor by introducing me to running (not really a fair trade if you ask me!).
I had never been a runner, nor did I ever care to be one (so I thought), but I had a wedding coming up, and I wanted to look good; so I gave in. Before I knew it I had completed my first 5k then 10k and then a Half Marathon. After that, I was hooked!
Rhonda and her team at BeFitLifestyle have helped me lose weight for my wedding, gain weight through 2 pregnancies and then lose it once again. After having my second child last June, I decided it was time to team up with one of BeFit's sport nutritionists, Jen McAlpine, and get some lessons in eating right. I have now lost all of my "baby weight" and feel better than ever!
In January I decided it was time to take on my next challenge; so I teamed up with Rhonda and AdvoCare and started training at my fullest potential. By using the AdvoCare products and listening to Rhonda's fitness and nutrition expertise, I managed to lose another 18 pounds and several inches in just 8 short weeks. Not quite at my goals yet, I decided to do the BeFit 8 Week Challenge with my mom and have now lost another 7lbs in the first 3 weeks!
The best part is, I feel wonderful and am stronger and more energetic than I have been in years - which is a good thing when you have 2 girls to chase after!
Thank you Rhonda and everyone at BeFitLifestyle for helping me achieve all of my goals!"

Cindy - 2009
"I'm a director /cinematographer in the film business and my job requires a lot of stamina for the long work hours and physical strength to operate the camera. . . particularly in the "handheld" mode, with the camera often on my shoulder for hours at a time.
I had been training for years at a large gym downtown and wanted a change. I wanted to find a place to work out with a trainer that was smaller, with more personalized attention and hopefully one that I could walk to.
I talked to Rhonda at BeFitLifestyle and when she told me about BeFit's whole health philosophy I knew I'd found the right place!
I told her that I wanted to develop more strength and stamina, that I was interested in starting to run again and that I wanted to tone up, lose some weight and look better.
We set my workouts to include strength training, flexibility, core strengthening and aerobic exercise. After 8 weeks I was definitely getting stronger, and was beginning to run again (this time with proper form!). . .but the weight wasn't coming off as quick as I wanted it to. . .something that I have found to be a challenge now that I'm over 50!
Rhonda suggested that I check out BeFit's "24 Day Challenge" a nutritional plan that is geared towards quick weight loss and educating the mind and body about healthy eating habits. I added this program to my twice-weekly training sessions, and I am ecstatic with the results! During those 13 days I lost 6 lbs and 4 overall inches. I was pleased to return 2 new pairs of jeans I had bought at Nordstroms because they were now too big.
The body fat loss is noticeable as I now see more muscle definition. . .and my increased strength and stamina became very apparent last week during an 8 mile hike at the Grand Canyon when I wore out my 24 year old step-daughter!
My goal now in addition to continuing my workouts, is to lose another 5 pounds through a modified "Lean in 13" and to increase my run time. . . Thanks Rhonda!"

When I came to see Rhonda last April I was already a veteran of a half a dozen personal trainers over the last 10 years. Some were very good, some were plum awful but none of them seemed to get it that I wasn't looking to beef up to Schwarzenegger size, qualify for an Iron Man, or prove that I could make in the SEALS training. I just wanted to be in shape, able to walk up a flight of stairs without wheezing, able to move some furniture around without rupturing a disc, able to hike and bike without needing a rest stop every fifty yards. Plus I had a problem, at age 65 I had experienced a slow decay in my back support and was told by my physician that i had "degenerative disk disease".
Rhonda seemed to get it right from the start. We started out slowly, trying exercises that built core without exposing my back to undue stress. I was surprised by how well this worked. Instead of finishing each session exhausted with my arms to tired to lift, I left feeling like I had been exercising where it counted. At first it seemed I wasn't doing much, just lots of lunges and twists that focused more on my torso than anywhere else. I wondered if this approach was going to produce any results and felt kinda wimpy that I wasn't demonstrating more brawn. After a couple of weeks i stared to notice a new strength in my walking and climbing, a solidity I had never experienced before. This sensation continued to grow over the weeks, giving me a feeling of having a "new chassis" to hang my extremities on. As the exercise broadened I began to fell physically different, not just stronger but more focused and more versatile. And, most gratefully, the pain and distress in my lower back began to subside.
I learned that the key was precision, knowing exactly which muscles to move and how to move them. It amazed me that leaning forward or backwards a couple of inches or lowing my lunge a another few inches could make such a difference. i also learned that standing flat-footed on the floor and doing bicep curls was very different from doing the same curls while trying to balance on a Bosu ball. This notion of engaging your whole body in the exercise was and is new to me. It seems to pay off in dividends and bring more value to each routine.
As for motivation, I was used to being brow-beaten into "give me 5 more," often getting nauseous in the middle of the routine from over-exertion. Once I even had an "exertion headache" that felt like my skull was going to explode from trying too hard to lift heavy weights. But with Rhonda's approach is to set a goal and let me decide if I want to go beyond it. It is surprising to me how effective this is at getting me to gradually raise the bar in terms of weights and reps. By taking direct control over the exercise I started to learn something about myself, that I could tune-in and learn my limits as well as my capabilities.
I mentioned that I had previous trainers. While I gained some benefit from all but a few, little of what they taught me stayed with me, perhaps because I was just defaulting to whatever they said and not even thinking about what I was doing. A true partnership is not like that, in a true partnership you are both shaping the program as it evolves. I've heard that exercise is at least as much a mental game as it is a physical one but never appreciated how much that is so until came to BeFit.
Oh, and for those of you who grew up in the 60's, I refrained from even mentioning the Beach Boys song for 4 months, as difficult as that was for a dedicated fan like myself. Still, it's not a bad catchphrase to get you going...

"The AdvoCare Challenge was different than others I've done. I lost 9 pounds and 10.75 inches!"

"My wife introduced me to BeFitLifestyle, a few years ago. At the time, I was running competitively in 10 races per year. Even though I was in shape, cardiovascularly... I still felt something was missing.
BeFitLifestyle was my missing piece!
I have since become a stronger man, in upper body, core and all around strength. I recently changed sports to biking and swimming (due to a new knee), and my recovery was expedited from my return to BeFitLifestyle, only weeks after surgery.
I cannot say enough about how Rhonda and her team have made me a better man and athlete.

"I started working out with Rhonda in October of 2012, about a month after I had my son, Jack. I was the laziest pregnant woman around so I was in horrible shape (probably why it took me 3 hours to push the little guy out!). After I got the “OK” from my doctor to exercise, I started seeing Rhonda twice a week. She started out really easy with me since my body was still healing.
I cannot believe the transformation my body has made since I started working out with her. Not only has she worked with me to help me get back into amazing post-baby shape, she even let me bring little Jack in while I worked out. So she gets time to play with the baby and I get to sweat for an hour, a win-win! I got back down to my pre-baby weight within a month and then continued losing weight and am 20 lbs less than I was before I got pregnant! I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have. And carrying a 16 lb. baby around all day requires some muscle, so I don’t know what I would do without Rhonda!
In December of 2011, right before I got pregnant, I went snowboarding in Tahoe and remember it being such a struggle just to stand up on my board after falling (which happened quite often). I just thought I was a horrible snowboarder, or I was somehow doing it wrong. Half of that is true, but it turns out I was just incredibly weak with absolutely no core strength. I went snowboarding December of 2012 a year later (3 months of training with Rhonda) and the difference was amazing! Although I am still a horrible snowboarder, I felt so much stronger! I was able to stand up time and time again with no problem and I was able to go down the mountain without feeling like I was about to collapse.
Rhonda has not only been my trainer and nutritionist, she has been a close friend to talk to for an hour twice a week Thank you for everything you have done for me!!”

"I came to see Rhonda in October of 2011. My daughter Zoe was 3 ½ years old and I was still blaming her for the “baby” weight and for how out of shape I had become. At the time I would struggle to pick her up or carry her for any amount of time (i.e. 30 seconds). She would beg me to get my bathing suit on a play with her on the beach but that was completely out of the question.
It’s been a long process and breaking bad habits hasn’t been easy, but nearly two years into working with Rhonda I feel like a new person. My daughter has grown/gained at least 15 pounds since I started and I can much more easily carry her now (she is going to stop asking to be carried soon – right?) than before. I can actually see muscles in places on my body that used to be a jiggley mess. And I just went out and bought a few new bathing suits (haven’t done that in over 5 years!) so I can say yes the next time Zoe asks me to play on the beach with her.
I love the abs class on Tuesday and circuits on Saturday have become my best weekend routine.
Thank you Rhonda for continuing to push me towards a healthier & happier me!”

"Wow! How time flies when you are having fun! BeFit has changed my life in so many ways! Growing up, exercise was never a part of my daily routine. I was never involved in any team or individual sports, so when my friend invited me to join the boot camp with BeFit almost 3 years ago, I knew I had an up hill battle. I remember feeling so wiped after every workout . . . but kept with it. After a while, I remember feeling my muscles get stronger and I was actually "competing" with my fellow boot-campers, which motivated us all!
I have been working out with BeFit and Leahna both with boot camp and personal training and I can't speak highly enough about it all! Leahna kicks my butt every week - and I am a better person for it. Once, I tried to find another workout that was closer to my house (I drive 20 minutes each way to get to the BeFit studio). Tried several other studios and just could not keep myself away from my BeFit home - truly, nothing compares! I can't live without my weekly workouts with Leahna!
Thanks for all your kindness, support, and help in keeping me strong and fit!"

"Recently my wife, Beverly, and I were watching Masterpiece Theatre on TV, and one of the characters said something I thought was profound - "It's not what we say or feel that makes us what we are, it's what we do, or not do". I used to want to be fit and I used to wish that I could participate in athletic events but I just didn't feel like I had the skill, strength, endurance, etc. Then I met Rhonda Nicholson. Rhonda had the knowledge, enthusiasm and motivational skill to help me achieve things I never thought were possible.
I just finished my sixth - and in many ways my most successful - half marathon. Amazingly, I've run three half marathons in the past sixth months and I'm registered for another one in August. And, while it's true that I had to take responsibility for my own accomplishments and "do" the hard work, it's also true that I could have never achieved what I have achieved without Rhonda. Her never-ending support and tireless help - both in the run group and in our twice-a-week weight training sessions - made all the difference. Of course, I'm also very blessed to have a fantastic wife who has encouraged me every step of the way, a wonderful supportive family, and terrific friends in the BeFitLifestyle Run/Walk Group.
I would encourage anyone who wants to move past thinking about getting fit and wishing things were different to talk to Rhonda and her great team of trainers. They really will make a difference in your life. And, you really can accomplish more than you think you can."

"Who wants to look good? Who gets there and ends up going back to their old ways?"
This is my story. I was always an athlete but after 3 kids everything else came first. I met Rhonda in 2004, and made some goals. I wanted to loose weight, get healthy along with my family and do a Sprint Triathlon for my birthday. I joined an 8 week challenge at BeFitLifestyle and got back to the woman I pictured myself to be.
Fast-forward 10 years, I was still working out, but had ditched the Lifestyle part of BeFit. I got diagnosed with high blood pressure. I was told I would have to go on medication. I asked the doctor if there is a plan B because from what I know once you go on medication for high blood pressure, you usually take it for the rest of your life.
My doctor suggested the DASH diet and gave me a month to see a change. I did some research and basically it is the same thing Rhonda said years ago. “We all should be eating that way.
In a month of dedication, my blood pressure went from 155/138 to 136/ 102. And in 2 months to 109/80 and I have a clean bill of health. I guess the side effect of such a diet is weight loss because I’ve also lost at least 10lbs!
So thank you Rhonda for being you! You were right. And most importantly my health is back on track and the family has all benefitted for it. Now we all know what clean eating is.
The moral of my story is: if that little voice tells you need to make a change, Rhonda can help! It is your choice of what you do with it.
